Barrington Dental Centre has been providing dental care for over 25 years.
We welcome new patients and can provide you and your family with advice, routine care or emergency treatment.
Elizabeth Ashby
Owner / Principal Dentist
Elizabeth is the practice owner and has been at Barrington Dental Centre since it opened in 1991, having spent the 4 years after graduation working at the Christchurch Hospital and in London.
Elizabeth works Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and is assisted by Carolyn.
Catherine Gill
Dentist
Catherine graduated from the University of Otago with distinction in 2012 and worked at Christchurch Hospital as a dental house surgeon in 2013. Catherine joined Barrington Dental Centre in August 2015 after working in private practice in sunny Nelson, and is now settled in Christchurch. She particularly enjoys root canal work, and helping patients to improve their own oral health. Outside of work, Catherine enjoys long distance running and loves to cook and bake. She is able to communicate with those in our Deaf community by means of New Zealand Sign Language.
Catherine works Monday to Thursday and is assisted by Rebecca.
Stephen Smith
Dentist
Stephen gained his dental degree from Otago University in 1987. For many years he practiced in the CBD, interrupted by a brief stint working in London. Stephen joined Barrington Dental in 2004. He is a born and bred Southlander, married to a Cantabrian, and together they have two teenage sons. Stephen enjoys the friendships he has made over many years in General Dentistry and looks forward to forging new friendships in the future.
Stephen works Wednesday and Friday, and is assisted by Sue.
Samantha Forde
Hygienist
Samantha is available on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Our Dentists and Hygienist are all New Zealand graduates and belong to the New Zealand Dental Association or Hygienist Association.
