Barrington Dental Centre has been providing dental care for over 25 years.
We welcome new patients and can provide you and your family with advice, routine care or emergency treatment.
We are located within the Barrington Community Health Centre where we have 3 modern, fully equipped surgeries
and plenty of onsite parking
Elizabeth Ashby
Owner / Principal Dentist
Elizabeth is the practice owner and has been at Barrington Dental since it opened in 1991, having spent the 4 years after graduation working at the Christchurch Hospital and in London.
Elizabeth works Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and is assisted by Jan.
Angela
Al-Sammak
Dentist
Ange completed her study at the University of Otago, graduating in 2019. She has worked in a mixture of hospital and private settings across Lower Hutt and Hawkes Bay before moving to Christchurch.
Ange has a strong interest in oral surgery, and enjoys seeing children and adolescents.
Outside of work, she loves the outdoors and you will often find her running or cycling through the Port Hills.
Ange works Tuesday to Friday and is assisted by Laura.
Pip Anderson
Dentist
Pip graduated from the Otago University School of Dentistry in 1994. After a couple of years at Dunedin Hospital she began work in private practice. She has lived and worked in Christchurch since 1999.
Pip lives with her partner Matthew and their two teenaged children. Outside of dentistry she loves to make the most of Canterbury with the Port Hills to explore and ski fields in close proximity.
Pip enjoys all aspects of dentistry and gets real satisfaction when someone transitions from nervous and apprehensive to feeling confident and comfortable in the dental chair.
Pip works Monday to Thursday and is assisted by Ro.
Abby Zhao
Hygienist/Oral
Health Therapist
Abby graduated from the University of Otago in Dunedin in 2022. As an oral health therapist, she has a dual scope in both dental hygiene and dental therapy.
Through a gentle and informative approach to treatment, Abby is able to adapt to your needs and comfort. With a blended technique of hand instruments and ultrasonic scaler, patients can expect quality treatment with less sensitivity and discomfort.
In her free time, Abby enjoys playing table tennis, photography, and hiking.
Abby works Monday, Tuesday and Friday.
